WHAT I DO

I am a professional communicator. You won’t see me on screen, but I am behind the things that you watch and read. I live and work in your community. I highlight what’s going on in your spaces. Through compelling writing and visuals, I help keep you informed.

where i have been

Greenville, sc

For three sweet years, I lived in Greenville. It’s not quite a beachfront community, but it’s not landlocked. As a producer, I covered stories including Hurricanes Florence, Michael and Dorian, the death of the Reverend Billy Graham, and Clemson University’s 2018 and 2019 national title game. There is nothing like the rush of a daily 11 p.m. deadline. There’s no procrastination in live television. You have to go on at 11 pm. There’s no putting off a project until the next day. The viewer expects you to be ready. It kept me humble.

WAYNESBURG UNIVERSITY

Waynesburg will always have a piece of me. I graduated in 2015 with a B.A. in Communication with an emphasis in Electronic Media. Waynesburg is a quaint university in a very small Pennsylvania town that’s entirely on a hill. The small school atmosphere gave me a chance to really build relationships with my professors. I was involved in so many things that it felt like I was a permanent fixture on campus.

CLARKSBURG, W.VA

WBOY is the first job I got out of college. It’s an NBC affiliated station in Clarksburg, West Virginia, another small town. I produced variety of newscasts. People often ask, what does a producer do? I wrote, created, and organized everything a viewer sees. I started out on the 11 p.m. show. I quickly became a trainer of other producers. I learned how to help manage and run a website. I set out on my own for the first time. This job helped make me who I am today.

Pittsburgh, pa

Pittsburgh will always hold a special place in my heart. I grew up in Pittsburgh. Actually, I grew up about 30 minutes north in a small town called Harmony. It was everything but that big city feel. But that’s okay. The smallness made going into the city even better. I still get excited thinking about driving through the Fort Pitt Tunnel into the Pittsburgh skyline. It means that I’m home. So many of the people I love live in Pittsburgh. No matter where life takes me, Pittsburgh will always be home.
